A whole new world...

3/16/2009....

A day I will never forget. The 1st day of my CAREER as an ACCOUNTANT! I seriously had started to doubt that I was ever going to fulfill my dream of being an Accountant, and suddenly here I am on this surreal day.

Everyone has experienced the 1st day of school, multiple times. Anxious, nervous, excited, scared.... Don't know quite what to expect, but so curious to see how its going to turn out.... that only begins to describe this surreal day.

I was completely prepared for this momentous day... Outfit ironed and layed out, coffee pot ready to brew, alarm clock set, and in bed early enough to be bright and smiley in the morning.

As my alarm went off I popped straight out of bed (those of you that know me well know that the idea of Tracy & jumping straight out of bed is simply ludacris). Showered, made my coffee, ate some cereal, did my hair & make-up, dressed up and left for my 1st day of work.

As I walk out to my car it is an absolutely beautiful sunny morning. 65 degrees and barely a cloud in the sky. I hop in the car and start my commute. I'm thinking its going to take me about 30minutes to get to work. Turn up the music and hit the highway. Thats when it truly hit me, the 1st day of my career feeling....

This was unlike anything I have ever felt before in my life. For the 1st time my mind isn't racing a million thoughts a minute. Completely calm and at peace. No words will ever truly be able to describe that drive. Such a sense of pride and accomplishment that I have never experienced before. My chest was filled with this amazing emotion. That drive will forever be ingrained in me. Something in me changed during that drive... What? I will never know. But I have a feeling that this was a once in a lifetime moment. Not like the 1st day of school, not even the 1st day of a job... The 1st day of a new life!

Everyone at Siliken is great. Such a good group of people. After 3 days I am just loving it. I know I will have many challenges ahead of me, but I am so ready! I am so excited to be a part of this company and can't wait for it to take off! This is going to be one hell of a ride!
Stay tuned...

Spring Break with Cuzzies

Erin and her friend Robyn came out to visit me for their Spring Break! I was so excited since they were going to be my very first visitors since moving away from home. It was the craziest and busiest week I have experienced since moving out to SD. And of course it was a fricken blast! I had an amazing time with my girlies!

They arrived early saturday morning, about 11am. I picked them up from the airport, we stopped at the apartment and then headed out for lunch at a gormet sandwich shop (which was so delicious!) The neighbor boys came and met us for lunch as well. After lunch we hit up the pool and hottub and spent hourse splashing around! After we were totally water logged we headed back to the apartment to get all dolled up! Its saturday night, so you know what that means... 2 buck chuck and dancing the night away! And what better place to go then Thrusters!!!

Sunday Fun Day! Of course we had to go to the eggery for a delicious breakfast and MIMOSAS!!! After breakfast we headed up to La Jolla for the day. We went to Childs pool so the girls could see the Seals and the seal babies on the beach. We also happened to catch an amazing sunset!

After the beautiful sunset in La Jolla the neighbor boys invited us down to play some beer pong! Erin and Robyn played it off as if they were terrible, however; they both ended up completely crushing me and both the neighbor boys! Terrible! After losing many rounds of Beer Pong I went and got Apples to Apples and we ended up playing prbly 150 rounds of it lol! It was a long and crazy night!

By Monday it was time for the San Diego Zoo! My 1st time going as well as the girls! We got to see the Giant Pandas which was a def highlite! As well as all the usuals.... Polar Bears, Monkeys, Giraffes, Elephants, Etc. We pretty much covered the entire Zoo in about 3 hours (impressive huh?) We also got to see a little show with trainers and saw the most beautiful cheetah! Such a fun trip to the Zoo!

After the Zoo we headed back to get all cleaned up! We were heading to Downtown tonite! Monday night = Ladies Night Woo Hoo!! We ended up at the Bitter End (Where Teddy took Tina and I in september). To our surprise we were the only ladies there and were quite the hit that night! It was pretty much all eyes on us girls! WHen its half off Martinis who could resist? We danced the night away, and actually made it to bar close! (this is a 1st for me)! lol

Tuesday the weather was amazing! Mid 60's and a perfect clear sky! Time for the Beach! We packed up the beach chairs and headed out. The sunshine felt amazing and the girlies even got a little tan ;) Once we had soaked up as much sunshine as we could, we hit the boardwalk for lunch and souveniers! Now the girls have truly experience Pacific Beach!

For the evening of course we had to hit up the PB weekly holiday... TACO TUESDAY! PB Bar & Grill has become a quick favorite of mine, so we took the girls there. Amazing Mahi Mahi tacos amoungst many other favorites! And then the best part, the bar turns into a club at 10pm so we ended up dancing the night away again!! =)

And now for wednesday... the last day in PB (sad, i know!) We hit the highway and headed up to Laguna Beach! Had an amazing lunch at this small mexican restaurant (guacamole was so yummy!!). Then we hit a few of the small shops and headed to the acutal beach! So gorgeous! The scenery just blows your mind up there!

After driving back to PB, we met up with Josh (one of the neighbor boys) and he took us to the ship they work at and gave us the full tour! USS Curts! It was a lot of fun, and we got to play a little dress up too ;)

That brings us to the end of this wonderful Spring Break. I dropped the girls off at the Airport at 7am thursday morning. Very sad to see them go, especially since we had such an amazing time together! My best Spring Break ever (and Im a college graduate lol, go figure!)

Slacker...

Ok, ok... I know I am a terrible slacker! The daily peeps is becoming the monthly peeps! YIKES! I am going to try harder to keep this thing up and running, pinky promise! ;)

So there is this little thing we have grown to love.... a little thing we like to call 2 BUCK CHUCK! ;) When you are living on an extremely tight budget, $2 Wine is a girls best friend!! hehehe....

What exactly is 2 buck chuck you say?? Here is the story we heard. Not sure if its true or not, but it is what we are going by so just go with it!

Charles Shaw created this amazing wine, only to end up with a crappy marriage! When he got divorced his ex-wife won 1/2 the profits of his Wine in the divorce. Obviously bitter and upset about his ex getting any part of his wine profits, Charles reduced the price of his wine to $2 a bottle so his ex-wife wouldn't get a damn dime! Hence the birth of 2 BUCK CHUCK!

Great story huh? We like it at least ;)

So after spending many wonderful evenings with 2 buck chuck, I thought I would share a few lovely pictures and stories! Enjoy!

One of our first nights out! Went to Cass Street bar to meet up with Sandman (one of Kt's friends). Sandman happened to bring a buddy of his with and it was Suzay! Tina and I were pretty excited to see Suzay (for those that don't know, we met him back in september when we visited). It turned into a pretty crazy night hopping from bar to bar, singing karaoke with the bums, taking bathroom photo shoots, 4-3-2-1-1-2-3-4 and still can't get into the bar, fruit rollup hooka shotgunning, and multiple blisters the next day!

At a point of desperation, I grabbed Lacey one day and hit the streets of La Jolla in search of a job. I printed off 20 resumes to drop at every Art Gallery I could find, and I got rid of them all! I also went door to door of every shop and asked for an application. It was about 3 or 4 hours of hell, but it was time to find a job! After I finally gave away the last resume, I took Lacey to a little cove in La Jolla called "Childs Pool". It was originally bulit so the children of the area had a beach to go to and a place to swim. After a little while the Seals found this nice little cove and took over, and so it now belongs to them. It had become a little tourist spot and a breeding home for the Seals.

Tina's 24th birthday celebration! Upon moving to SD, Tina has been craving Italian food pretty much everyday, but all we eat is asian and mexican! All that seems to be here lol! Lacey and I happened to come across an Olive Garden one day out running errands, and we both knew instantly thats where we had to take Tina for her bday. She LOVED it! I dont think any of us have ever eaten so fast in our lives. The waiter prbly thought we were some poor starved girls...
After dinner we came back to the house for some cake and of couse 2 buck chuck! lol... To Tina's surprise we managed to make her favorite Dirt Cake! (Thanks to Jaci giving Lacey the recipe) After cake we had no choice but to hit up the Silver Fox! ($2 u call its all night!) It was a crazy fun night!

Valentine's Day! The neighbor boys wanted to take us out for a "F$% Valentines Day" celebration. So us girls got all dolled up and met up with the boys after a few glasses of 2 buck chuck! The surprised us all with red roses... it was very sweet! We then all headed downtown to go clubbing. We ended up at Onyx which was very nice and a ton of fun and a little crazy as well! We danced the night away until Tray-Lo had a little too much fun and ended up spending a little too much time in the ladies room! One of the guys told Tina to go check on me and as she turned the corner in the bathroom she saw a girl holding a large handfull of brown hair in the doorway of a stall... Tina was like "i think thats my friend" and as she peeked in the stall I was like "Tina.... I wanna go home...." Oops! lol Not so much fun at the time, but a great story! Def a valentine's that will not be forgotten.

oh and Tina got some pretty red roses too! Lucky Girl!

Since moving to CA we have one obsession... DONKEY! Not sure exactly how or why. Tina started it and it has stuck ever since lol! So we got a little donkey and he serves as our mascot! Tingalayo is his name and we love him dearly, especially when its 2 buck chuck time!!

There have been many other crazy nights with 2 Buck Chuck and I am sure there are many more to come!!!!
